1.  Coral Triangle Day observed on 9 June 2020, importance of ocean conservation and raise awareness regarding the need for the protection of ocean biodiversity with an emphasis on the Coral Triangle.


Theme of Coral Triangle Day 2020 is “Working together towards a plastic-free Coral Triangle”.


Day is observed by the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF).

Coral Triangle covers six countries in Asia- Pacific region which are Indonesia, Phillipians, Malaysia, Timor leste, Papua New Guinea and Solomon island.

Day first time observed on 09 Jun 2012.

Ministry of earth sciences and municipal corporation of greater Mumbai developed the integrated flood warning system for Mumbai. 


Capture the urban drainage and predict the areas of flooding.

5. Central government decision to increase import duty on bamboo sticks from 10 % to 25%.

9. Deep submergence rescue vehicle (DSRV) complex inaugurated at visakhapatnam

DSRV system comprises a remote operation vehicle, side scan sonar, submarine rescue vessel.

It can be mobilised by air or road to facilitate submarine rescue operation even at distant location. Today 40 countries around the world operating submarines few of them having this facility.
